Cleveland was selected as one of the Cities to host the US Book Launch of “Lost Gaels” by Peadar Thompson. When Cleveland was selected as one of the cities to host the Book Launch, LAOH Immediate Past National President Marilyn Madigan immediately thought that the West Side Irish American Club was the venue for this Historic Event.

Lost Gaels is the first book featuring GAA Members killed in the conflict in the North of Ireland. This Book provides a vital record for their families and friends to remember those they lost. The GAA President Jarlath Burns states in the forward “that this book serves as a testament to the profound impact of the GAA as a uniting force for communities enduring unrest and violence.”

“About the Author: Peadar Thompson is a lifelong Gael from West Belfast. He is a fluent gaeilgeoir, and member of Naomh Eoin CLG. Strongly motivated by his own family’s campaigning for truth and justice, Peadar has read law at both Newcastle University and Leiden University, and has worked in the fields of human rights, law and victim advocacy, including Relatives for Justice. Peadar is named after his paternal uncle, Peter, who was killed on 13 January 1990 by undercover British Army Intelligence Officers.” Published by Merrion Press.

Come out to the Club for this Book launch on Sunday March 2 at 7:00pm. The Ancient Order of Hibernians, Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Cleveland GAA are proud to host this important event. For more information, please contact Marilyn Madigan at memadigan@gmail.com or 216-470-3773.
